Privacy Policy

Definitions and key terms

To help explain things as clearly as possible in this Privacy Policy, every time any of these terms are referenced, they are strictly defined as:

• Company: when this policy mentions "Company," "we," "us," or "our," it refers to June, that is responsible for your information under this Privacy Policy.
• Country: where June or the owners/founders of June are based, in this case is Turkey.
• Device: any internet connected device such as a phone or tablet that can be used to install and use the June app.
• Personal Data: any information that directly, indirectly, or in connection with other information allows for the identification or identifiability of a natural person.
• Service: refers to the June mobile application and any related backend services described in this policy.
• Third-party service provider: a company we use to help operate the Service, such as our hosting, analytics, payment, or AI providers, listed below.
• You: a person who uses the Service, including during onboarding before creating an account.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect information you provide directly when you use June, including during onboarding before you create an account:

• Account information: your name, your email address, and either a password or the Apple or Google account you sign in with (used to create and secure your account).
• Onboarding: when you plan your first day during onboarding, June creates an anonymous account (no name, email, or password) to hold it, because our AI features only run for a signed-in account. Creating your account at the end of onboarding upgrades that same account, so your first day is waiting for you. Your answers to the questions at the start of onboarding stay on your device and are never saved or sent to us.
• Goal and planning content: goals, milestones, actions, and tasks you create, and the text you type or say when you ask June to plan your day or week (including your first day during onboarding), which is saved with the plan June builds from it.
• Reflection content: free-text entries such as your "why" statement and logged wins.
• Vision board images: photos you choose to upload from your device's photo library.
• Voice recordings: if you use voice dictation, a short audio clip of what you said. It is sent for transcription and is not stored (see "Voice Dictation" below).
• Feedback: the category, star rating, and message you submit through the in-app feedback form, plus a reply-to email if you choose to provide one.
• App preferences: your timezone, theme (light/dark), and notification/reminder settings.

We also collect a small amount of information automatically or from other services to operate the app:

• A push-notification device token and platform, used only to deliver reminders you've enabled.
• Subscription and purchase status from our payment provider (RevenueCat), so we know which features to unlock and when a free trial ends.
• Basic usage events and crash/diagnostic data (see "Analytics and Crash Reporting" below).
• If you choose to connect it, read/write access to your Google Calendar (see "Google Calendar" below). This is entirely optional and only requested if you enable it.

How Do We Use The Information We Collect?

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
• Store and display your goals, tasks, progress, and reflections back to you.
• Build and adjust your plans and generate suggestions with AI (see "AI-Generated Content" below).
• Send you the reminder notifications you've turned on.
• Email you a reminder before a free trial ends.
• Process and manage your subscription.
• Respond to feedback and support requests you send us.
• Diagnose crashes and understand how the app is used, so we can fix bugs and improve it.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

AI-Generated Content

June uses Anthropic's Claude API for its AI features: building your day or week from what you tell it, adjusting the rest of a day when plans change, suggesting smaller versions of your tasks, suggesting actions and milestones for a goal, and fitting a goal's actions into your schedule. The first of these also runs during onboarding, before you create an account: the first day June builds for you comes from what you type or say there.

For each request, our backend sends Anthropic only what that feature needs: the text you type or say when you ask June to plan (which is free-form, so it contains whatever you choose to write), the goal details you enter (its name, your starting point, your timeline, and its actions), the titles and times of tasks already on your schedule so a new plan fits around them, and planning settings such as your day's start and end times, your timezone, and your break and meal preferences. We never send your name, email address, account credentials, reflections, vision board images, or Google Calendar data. These requests are made securely from our backend, not directly from your device.

Plans June builds are saved to your schedule straight away, along with the text you gave it, and you can change or delete any task it creates. Goal suggestions are saved as part of the goal you create. Anthropic's handling of data sent to its API is governed by Anthropic's own privacy and data-use terms.

Voice Dictation

June lets you speak your plan instead of typing it, wherever it offers a microphone: when you plan your day or week, in the nightly ritual, and when you plan your first day during onboarding. When you tap the microphone, the app records a short clip on your device and sends it to our backend, which forwards it to OpenAI's speech-to-text API to turn it into text. The transcript comes back to the app and is placed in the text field, where you can read and edit it before doing anything with it.

The recording itself is never stored. It exists only for the length of that one request: the temporary file on your device is deleted as soon as it has been read, and June keeps no copy in its database or file storage. Only the resulting text is saved, and only if you go on to build a plan from it. OpenAI's handling of data sent to its API is governed by OpenAI's own privacy and data-use terms.

Microphone access is requested only when you first tap the microphone, and voice dictation is the only feature that uses it. You can decline or revoke it in your device settings and go on using the rest of June by typing.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both provided by Google) to understand basic usage patterns and diagnose problems.

• Firebase Analytics records events such as account sign-up, login, subscription started, screen views, and which features you use (for example, planning a day or creating a goal). It does not receive your goal content, the text you plan with, reflections, or vision board images.
• Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects crash logs and device diagnostic information (such as device model and OS version) if the app crashes, so we can fix the issue.

Push Notifications

If you enable reminders, we store a push-notification token for your device (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) along with your timezone and reminder preferences. This is used only to deliver the morning and nightly reminders you've turned on and the reminder before a free trial ends, and is removed if you delete your account.

Google Calendar

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, June requests permission to read and write calendar events on your behalf, using Google's sign-in. Google issues a refresh token, which the app passes straight to our backend without keeping a copy. We store it securely and never expose it to other users. Whenever June needs your calendar, our backend uses the refresh token to get a temporary access token from Google and sends it to the app on your device. The app keeps that access token in memory only, until it expires (within an hour), and uses it to read and write your events directly with Google Calendar. You can disconnect at any time from Settings in the app, which deletes the stored refresh token from our backend. You can also remove June's access from your Google Account settings, or contact us.

Limited Use disclosure: June's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data read from your Google Calendar is used solely to power the calendar features described above: displaying your events in the app, detecting scheduling conflicts, and creating events you ask us to add. This data is never used, transferred, or sold to develop, train, or improve any AI, machine learning, or generalized models (whether foundational or otherwise), and is never used for advertising. Your Google Calendar data is never sent to Anthropic, OpenAI, or any other AI provider; the AI features described above operate only on the goal, task, and voice input you give June directly.

Payments and Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are handled entirely through Apple's or Google's app store billing systems and RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We never see or store your payment card details. We only receive your subscription status (for example, whether you have an active trial or paid subscription) so the app can unlock the right features. When you start a free trial, RevenueCat also tells our backend when it ends, so we can email you (through Resend, our email provider) shortly before it does, and send a push notification if you've turned them on. If you cancel before then, no reminder is sent.

Do we share the information we collect with third parties?

We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate June, namely:

• Supabase: our database, authentication, file storage, and backend hosting provider.
• Google (Firebase): analytics and crash reporting, and Google Calendar integration if you enable it.
• RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management.
• Resend: sends the email reminding you before a free trial ends.
• Anthropic: runs June's AI features on the planning text, goal details, and schedule described in "AI-Generated Content" above.
• OpenAI: converts a voice recording into text when you use voice dictation, as described above.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of June or our users.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so that June can function as intended. If you delete your account from Settings, we permanently delete your goals, plans (including the text you typed or said to plan with), tasks, progress entries, reflections, wins, vision board images, feedback, device tokens, calendar access, trial reminders, and account settings from our systems, along with your login credentials. This deletion happens immediately when you confirm it in the app. It is not a delayed or manual process.

If you leave onboarding without creating an account, the anonymous account June made for you and the first day it built are deleted automatically once that account is 30 days old.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

Your data is stored with Supabase, which enforces row-level security so that only you can access your own goals, tasks, reflections, and files. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Could my information be transferred to other countries?

June is incorporated in Turkey. Our service providers (Supabase, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, Resend, Anthropic, OpenAI) may process and store data in other countries, including the United States. By using June, you consent to this transfer and processing, which is necessary to provide the Service to you.

Can I update, correct, or delete my information?

You can update your goals, tasks, reflections, and settings directly within the app at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings. Deleting your account removes all personal data described in this policy from our active systems. If you'd like help with a request, or want to exercise any rights described below, you can contact us using the details in "Contact Us."

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Your use of June may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.

By using June, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service. Continued use of June following any posted changes to this Privacy Policy means you accept those changes.

Kids' Privacy

June is not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes To Our Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Service or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. If you continue to use June after changes take effect, you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree with an update, you can delete your account.

European Economic Area (GDPR) Residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data. You can exercise the deletion right directly in-app via account deletion, or contact us for other requests. We rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in operating the Service as the legal bases for processing your data.

California Residents (CCPA/CalOPPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share (as described in this policy), the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to equal service regardless of whether you exercise these rights.

We do not sell your personal information. You can request account deletion directly in the app, or contact us to exercise any other rights. We aim to respond to requests within one month.
