Privacy Policy

Definitions and key terms

To help explain things as clearly as possible in this Privacy Policy, every time any of these terms are referenced, they are strictly defined as:

  • Company: when this policy mentions "Company," "we," "us," or "our," it refers to June, that is responsible for your information under this Privacy Policy.
  • Country: where June or the owners/founders of June are based, in this case is Turkey.
  • Device: any internet connected device such as a phone or tablet that can be used to install and use the June app.
  • Personal Data: any information that directly, indirectly, or in connection with other information allows for the identification or identifiability of a natural person.
  • Service: refers to the June mobile application and any related backend services described in this policy.
  • Third-party service provider: a company we use to help operate the Service, such as our hosting, analytics, payment, or AI providers, listed below.
  • You: a person who has registered an account with June to use the Service.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account and use June:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (used to create and secure your account).
  • Goal and planning content: goals, milestones, actions, progress entries, and tasks you create.
  • Reflection content: free-text entries such as your "why" statement, then/now reflections, and logged wins.
  • Vision board images: photos you choose to upload from your device's photo library.
  • Feedback: the category, star rating, and message you submit through the in-app feedback form, plus a reply-to email if you choose to provide one.
  • App preferences: your timezone, theme (light/dark), and notification/reminder settings.

We also collect a small amount of information automatically or from other services to operate the app:

  • A push-notification device token and platform, used only to deliver reminders you've enabled.
  • Subscription and purchase status from our payment provider (RevenueCat), so we know which features to unlock.
  • Basic usage events and crash/diagnostic data (see "Analytics and Crash Reporting" below).
  • If you choose to connect it, read/write access to your Google Calendar (see "Google Calendar" below). This is entirely optional and only requested if you enable it.

How Do We Use The Information We Collect?

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
  • Store and display your goals, tasks, progress, and reflections back to you.
  • Generate personalized suggestions (see "AI-Generated Content" below).
  • Send you the reminder notifications you've turned on.
  • Process and manage your subscription.
  • Respond to feedback and support requests you send us.
  • Diagnose crashes and understand how the app is used, so we can fix bugs and improve it.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

AI-Generated Content

Some June features (for example, generating a suggested plan, action steps, or a "why" statement for a goal) send the relevant text you've entered — such as your goal, your reasons, or your starting point — to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. This request is made securely from our backend, not directly from your device.

Anthropic processes this text to return a suggestion, which we then show you and, if you choose to keep it, store as part of your goal data in our own database. Anthropic's handling of data sent to its API is governed by Anthropic's own privacy and data-use terms. We do not send your account credentials, and we only send the specific goal/task text needed to generate that particular suggestion.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both provided by Google) to understand basic usage patterns and diagnose problems.

  • Firebase Analytics records events such as account sign-up, login, subscription started, and screen views. It does not receive your goal content, reflections, or vision board images.
  • Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects crash logs and device diagnostic information (such as device model and OS version) if the app crashes, so we can fix the issue.

Push Notifications

If you enable reminders, we store a push-notification token for your device (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) along with your timezone and reminder preferences. This is used only to deliver the morning and nightly reminders you've turned on, and is removed if you delete your account.

Google Calendar

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, June requests permission to read and write calendar events on your behalf, using Google's sign-in. The access token this grants is stored securely on our backend and is never exposed to the app itself or other users. You can disconnect this access at any time from your Google Account settings or by contacting us.

Limited Use disclosure: June's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data read from your Google Calendar is used solely to power the calendar features described above: displaying your events in the app, detecting scheduling conflicts, and creating events you ask us to add. This data is never used, transferred, or sold to develop, train, or improve any AI, machine learning, or generalized models (whether foundational or otherwise), and is never used for advertising. It is not sent to Anthropic or any other AI provider; the AI-generated suggestions described above are produced only from the goal, task, and reflection text you enter directly into June.

Payments and Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are handled entirely through Apple's or Google's app store billing systems and RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We never see or store your payment card details — we only receive your subscription status (for example, whether you have an active trial or paid subscription) so the app can unlock the right features.

Do we share the information we collect with third parties?

We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate June, namely:

  • Supabase — our database, authentication, file storage, and backend hosting provider.
  • Google (Firebase) — analytics and crash reporting, and Google Calendar integration if you enable it.
  • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
  • Anthropic — processes specific goal/task text you submit to generate AI suggestions, as described above.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of June or our users.

How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so that June can function as intended. If you delete your account from Settings, we permanently delete your goals, tasks, progress entries, reflections, wins, vision board images, feedback, device tokens, calendar access, and account settings from our systems, along with your login credentials. This deletion happens immediately when you confirm it in the app — it is not a delayed or manual process.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

Your data is stored with Supabase, which enforces row-level security so that only you can access your own goals, tasks, reflections, and files. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Could my information be transferred to other countries?

June is incorporated in Turkey. Our service providers (Supabase, Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, Anthropic) may process and store data in other countries, including the United States. By using June, you consent to this transfer and processing, which is necessary to provide the Service to you.

Can I update, correct, or delete my information?

You can update your goals, tasks, reflections, and settings directly within the app at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings — this removes all personal data described in this policy from our active systems. If you'd like help with a request, or want to exercise any rights described below, you can contact us using the details in "Contact Us."

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Your use of June may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.

By using June, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service. Continued use of June following any posted changes to this Privacy Policy means you accept those changes.

Kids' Privacy

June is not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes To Our Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Service or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. If you continue to use June after changes take effect, you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree with an update, you can delete your account.

European Economic Area (GDPR) Residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data. You can exercise the deletion right directly in-app via account deletion, or contact us for other requests. We rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in operating the Service as the legal bases for processing your data.

California Residents (CCPA/CalOPPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share (as described in this policy), the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to equal service regardless of whether you exercise these rights.

We do not sell your personal information. You can request account deletion directly in the app, or contact us to exercise any other rights. We aim to respond to requests within one month.
